It’s time for a giant robot to layeth the smackdown on some candy ass giant extraterrestrial monster and we will see happen in the new action fueled trailer for Pacific Rim!
Pacific Rim tells the story of earth comes under attack from giant monsters called Kaiju who rise from the sea. To combat the attacks the humans create giant robots named Jaegers but as things start to look gloomy Earth’s fate lies in the hands of former pilot (Charlie Hunnam) and an untested trainee (Rinko Kikuchi).
This new trailer is called ‘CES Trailer’ as it was shown last night at America’s annual Consumer Electronics Show (CES) at the Qualcomm panel showing off some new footage mixed in with the films first official trailer we enjoyed last month. There’s no development on the characters but instead we’re introduced to more of the team best of all we see the giant Jaegers (probably powered by processors created by Qualcomm) heat things up with more action with the giant monsters. Overall this new trailer does well to highlight the sheer scale of the action, so when the Jaegers kick ass will we be calling them Jaegerbombs?
The film stars Idris Elba, Charlie Day, Max Martini, Rob Kazinsky, Clifton Collins Jr., and Diego Klattenhoff. Pacific Rim will be arriving in UK&Ireland, USA12th July 2013.
When legions of monstrous creatures, known as Kaiju, started rising from the sea, a war began that would take millions of lives and consume humanity’s resources for years on end. To combat the giant Kaiju, a special type of weapon was devised: massive robots, called Jaegers, which are controlled simultaneously by two pilots whose minds are locked in a neural bridge. But even the Jaegers are proving nearly defenseless in the face of the relentless Kaiju. On the verge of defeat, the forces defending mankind have no choice but to turn to two unlikely heroes – a washed up former pilot (Charlie Hunnam) and an untested trainee (Rinko Kikuchi) – who are teamed to drive a legendary but seemingly obsolete Jaeger from the past. Together, they stand as mankind’s last hope against the mounting apocalypse.
