After a Jekyll & Hyde 2012 2013 is looks potentially a better year for Bruce Willis starting with next months valentines day A Good Day To Die Hard aka Die Hard 5 Robert Rodriguez may have potentially make his year a little better. In an interview for MTV with Rodriguez at Sundance film festival he confirmed Bruce Willis will be returning to the franchise to play Hartigan once again in Sin City A Dame To Kill For.
“Bruce is back, so you’ll be seeing him.”
Bruce willis in the 2005 Sin City played a good cop framed for a serious of child murders only to escape prison to save Nancy (Jessica Alba) a girl he saved once before many years before. However if you’ve been eagle eyed or know the Frank Miller’s (co-director) graphic novels Hartigan dies but in Mickey Rourke Marv story from same film ‘Just Another Saturday Night’ which crossed over into ‘The Yellow Bastard’ which has Hartigan and Nancy the ending makes sense of Hartigan’s inclusion.
In the same interview Rodriguez shared a few words on Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s character who he will be playing:
“It’s a new character. He plays a gambler, a very cocky gambler, who comes in and tries to beat the biggest villain in Sin City at his own game. The story’s called ‘The Long, Bad Night.’ He beats the wrong guy in a game and bad stuff happens to him.”
Gordon-Levitt is one of several new cast members joining for this film, others include Josh Brolin, Dennis Haysbert, Jamie Chung, Ray Liotta, Juno Temple and Jeremy Piven. They will be joined by Rosario Dawson, Jaime King will also be returning cast members and with the film set for a 4th October release we can expect to hear more about this film very shortly.
