Whilst 14th February might be the day show your true love to your other half but next Valentine’s Day will be a chance for father and sons to bond together when A Good Day To Die Hard arrives in a cinema near you. Bruce Willis returns as John McClane for the 5th time and once again he is having a bad day but this time he has company his son Jack played by Jai Courtney, who is introduced to fans in a new short featurette.
Bruce Willis returns in his most iconic role as John McClane – the “real” hero with the skills and attitude to always be the last man standing. This time the take-no-prisoners cop is really in the wrong place at the wrong time after traveling to Moscow to help his estranged son Jack. With the Russian underworld in pursuit, and battling a countdown to war, the two McClanes discover that their opposing methods make them unstoppable heroes.
It looks business as usual for Die Hard 5, with the film taking a less serious approach than previous films with John McClane with junior by his side and new baddies as well as Russia as the new setting things look promising. My only concern is 12A rating which many have been 18 or 15 ratings (Die Hard has been both) with the quite a few falling short of what we expected. Hopefully A Good Day To Die Hard will rise above previous 12A films and on the evidence of the trailers the over the top action are there, the cheese is there, McClane is having a bad day so will it be Yippee Ki Yeh Mother Russia? All revealed next February!
A Good Day To Die Hard also stars Sebastian Koch, Yulia Snigir, Cole Hauser, Amaury Nolasco, Megalyn Echikunwoke, Anne Vyalitsyna, and Mary Elizabeth Winstead.
