Watch New Gangster Squad Featurette Which Promises To Be For New Generation


January’s cinematic viewing is looking very promising especially if you like your films with a retro feel with Tarantino’s Django Unchained arriving January 18th but the week before we go back to the late 1940’s when the G-Men and mobsters ruled the streets in Ruben Fleischer’s Gangster Squad arrives on both sides of the Atlantic.. Today we have the film’s first featurette which is a bit on the short side with tidbits of new footage spread throughout the video with Fleischer talking about the attraction great gangster films name dropping a few such as The Godfather, The Untouchables, Goodfellas but with his goal was to make a gangster film for a new generation. Gangster Squad certainly has the style, the retro feel and a fantastic ensembled cast to achieve the goal the director wants

Gangster Squad is based on Paul Lieberman’s book set in 1949 the film stars Josh Brolin a former cop who returns from military service in World War 2  and goes to Los Angeles to lead a Police task force to take on the organised crime creeping into LA from East coast lead by mobster linchpin Mickey Cohen (Sean Penn).

Gangster Squad is due out 11 January 2013 and stars Ryan Gosling,Emma Stone,Michael Peña,Ryan GoslingRobert Patrick and Anthony Mackie and Nick Nolte.
