Last year Brad Pitt made the world of baseball popular even for us non Baseball playing countries with Moneyball and this November Clint Eastwood will star in Baseball drama Trouble With The Curve and you can watch the film’s trailer below. 2008 seemed to be the year that Clint Eastwood retired from the front of the camera to concentrate behind it with Gran Torino meant to be his swan song however 4 years on the passion for acting is still there for the veteran actor. In Trouble with The Curve Eastwood plays an ageing Baseball scout whose daughter (Amy Adams) reluctantly agrees to join her father in one last scouting trip bringing out a few home truths as they travel around the country.
The strong point of this film does look like the chemistry of the films 3 leads Clint Eastwood, Amy Adams and Justin Timberlake who plays the love interest for Adams. The script does look a little troublesome at times and the characterisation looks a little jaded however it is a chance for Adams to propel herself in a lead female role instead of been second fiddle. The plot of the film doesn’t seem to follow the generic sports drama win win win formula either. Despite those things I mentioned this one might do ok when the film arrives 30th November in UK.
Trouble With The Curve also stars Matthew Lillard (in a wet suit), John Goodman and Robert Lorenz in his feature directorial debut after years working under Eastwood as 2nd unit director/producer in such films as Million Dollar Baby, Mystic River.
