Tiff 2012: Watch The Sexy Trailer For Brian De Palma’s Passion

Trailer For Brian De Palma’s erotic thriller Passion starring Noomi Rapace and Rachel McAdams has been released online by Toronto Film Festival.I’d be honest I haven’t been paying much attention to this film even when my friend emailed me a month or two go when he thought found a  revelation that Rapace and McAdams were lesbian lovers not foolishly realising it was a image for this film! Based loosely on the Alain Corneau’s Crime d’amour (Aka Love Crime which starred  Kristin Scott-Thomas and Ludivine Sagnier) which ironically came out 2010 in France and begs the question did it really need a remake? For the film makers sake yes as he’s been stuck in the dark cauldrons of film hell for a few years.

Passion follows the story of two women involved in a sexy and dangerous power struggle within a multinational company one with power and money the protégé full of ideas do anything to steal the limelight. The film has all the hallmarks you expect from a De Palma film the pulpy noir, full of sexual tension, it’s one of those films you’ll destroy in a minute criticising it but secretively you want to see it as it’s a Brian DePalma flick. Passion is doing the rounds of the festivals with Venice, Tornoto and New York, it needs a distributor but the question is will it be a distributor for a cinema release, direct to DVD or late night television?

An erotic thriller in the tradition of Dressed To Kill and Basic Instinct, Brian de Palma’s Passion tells the story of a deadly power struggle between two women in the dog-eat-dog world of international business. Christine possesses the natural elegance and casual ease associated with one who has a healthy relationship with money and power. Innocent, lovely and easily exploited, her admiring protégé, Isabelle, is full of cutting-edge ideas that Christine has no qualms about stealing. They’re on the same team, after all… But when Isabelle falls into bed with one of Christine’s lovers, war breaks out. Starring Rachel McAdams, Noomi Rapace, Karoline Herfurth and Paul Anderson.
