So have you Dreamed A Dream? After the flurry of images the past week finally he first trailer for Les Miserables has arrived, the big budget version of the never ending popular West End musical extravaganza with The Kings Speech director Tom Hooper at the helm. With award winning directors comes great assembled cast and they have certainly pushed out the boat on this one with Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe, Helena Bonham Carter, Anne Hathaway , Eddie Redmayne and Amanda Seyfried mouth watering? Of course it is!

You may have wondered when I opened the post “I Dreamed A Dream” that good old Subo aka Susan Boyle had made a film but as you’ll know the song that made her famous came from this musical and Anne Hathaway has the task of performing the song in this film. Sporting a Mia Farrow hairstyle she plays Fantine and I’m not musically gifted person but I think we can say she does a good of the musical’s most famous tune! The trailer we don’t really get much in the lines of dialogue more to introduce the viewer to the characters but this does look fantastic and potentially Oscars coming Mr Hooper’s way again next year? In Set and Costume Design it’s looking good!

Les Miserables will be with us in UK&Ireland from January 11th, 2013.

Set against the backdrop of 19th-century France, Les Misérables tells an enthralling story of broken dreams and unrequited love, passion, sacrifice and redemption–a timeless testament to the survival of the human spirit. Jackman plays ex-prisoner Jean Valjean, hunted for decades by the ruthless policeman Javert (Crowe) after he breaks parole. When Valjean agrees to care for factory worker Fantine’s (Hathaway) young daughter, Cosette, their lives change forever.
