It wouldn’t be a summer without a film Judd Apatow is involved in it some shape or form and this June your wish is granted when FIVE YEAR ENGAGEMENT directed by Forgetting Sarah Marshall helmer Nicholas Stoller. Starring Jason Segal , Emily Blunt as a young couple who get engaged but the fiancée career commitments put their wedding on hold which starts to put a strain on the relationship.
Funny or Die have released a new red band trailer which proves this film is a R Rated romantic comedy but with Apatow involved you would expect nothing less. Plenty of funny moments in this one, jokes are cruder, ruder and damn right funny, there’s even a possible peace solution to Middle East crisis as well. Overall it’s a more solid trailer than the previous trailer, proving 2 things it’s good to be rude sometimes in romantic comedies and 2 it doesn’t always have to be sexually explicit to make you laugh… its all in the dialogue!
The director and writer/star of Forgetting Sarah Marshall reteam for the irreverent comedy The Five-Year Engagement. Beginning where most romantic comedies end, the new film from director Nicholas Stoller, producer Judd Apatow (Knocked Up, The 40-Year-Old Virgin) and Rodney Rothman (Get Him to the Greek) looks at what happens when an engaged couple, Jason Segel and Emily Blunt, keeps getting tripped up on the long walk down the aisle. The film was written by Segel and Stoller.
Five Year Engagement also stars Chris Pratt, Alison Brie, Rhys Ifans, David Paymer, Mimi Kennedy, Jacki Weaver, Brian Posehn, and Mindy Kaling with the film arriving in UK&Ireland June 22nd 2012.
*UPDATE 24 APRIL – I’ve just received the UK version of this trailer thanks to Universal Pictures UK, thanks guys!*
