Looking at the quality of this short 30 second promo it makes you wonder is it really ‘leaked footage’, only time will tell if it is when everything is pulled offline, but enjoy it will you can the first footage of Len Wiseman’s TOTAL RECALL!
If you were at last summer’s Big Event in London this footage will look familiar to you as its an extract from that 10 minutes footage that was aired, but from the subtitled writing below the footage it seems its Taiwanese. From the first look the footage does look untouched, timecodes, colour needs a good bit of editing and you don’t have to be a rocket scientist to know Sony won’t be happy about this one so have a look before it disappears!
Despite the presence of Colin Farrell and Bryan Cranston it’s a film that some cinephiles are finding hard to be convinced, myself as one of them. I adore sci-fi especially however maybe it’s Len Wiseman as director or I’m just that ised to the Arnold Schwarzenegger version which if I remember (correct me if I’m wrong) was not actually a true adaptation of the Philip K Dick short story We Can Remember It For You Wholesale and this version is meant to follow that story closely. ?
August isn’t that far away so hopefully in the next few weeks we’ll have the first official trailer, Colin Farrell as Douglas Quaid a factory Worker who believes he’s a spy but which side? Farrell will be joined by Kate Beckinsale (Lori) , Jessica Biel (Melina), Bill Nighy(Kuato), Ethan Hawke and Bryan Cranston (Chancellor Cohaagen). Total Recall will be out August 22nd in UK&Ireland
Total Recall is an action thriller about reality and memory, inspired anew by the famous short story “We Can Remember It For You Wholesale” by Philip K. Dick. Welcome to Rekall, the company that can turn your dreams into real memories. For a factory worker named Douglas Quaid (Colin Farrell), even though he’s got a beautiful wife (Kate Beckinsale) who he loves, the mind-trip sounds like the perfect vacation from his frustrating life – real memories of life as a super-spy might be just what he needs. But when the procedure goes horribly wrong, Quaid becomes a hunted man. Finding himself on the run from the police – controlled by Chancellor Cohaagen (Bryan Cranston), the leader of the free world – Quaid teams up with a rebel fighter (Jessica Biel) to find the head of the underground resistance (Bill Nighy) and stop Cohaagen. The line between fantasy and reality gets blurred and the fate of his world hangs in the balance as Quaid discovers his true identity, his true love, and his true fate.
