Women and Lars Von Trier have had a hard time, the eccentric Danish film makers does love to give his female cast a real hard time. From cutting of their genitalia to loosing their rag as the world nears its end and next year we will watch the sexual journey of a woman from birth to age of 50. We’ve know for a while that film will be NYMPHOMANIAC and looking like regular Von Trier Masochists Charlotte Gainsbourg and Stellan Skarsgaard will be in the film but what’s the film’s official synopsis?
This month The Berlin Film Festival, European Film Market kicks off tomorrow and Von Trier’ssales agents Trust Nordisk will launch the presales of NYMPHOMANIAC and Twitch have gotten there hands on the film’s official synopsis, here it is….
NYMPHOMANIAC is the light and poetic story of a woman’s erotic journey from birth to the age of 50 as told by the main character, the self-‐diagnosed nymphomaniac, Joe.
On a cold winter’s evening Seligman, an old bachelor, finds Joe semi‐unconscious and beaten up in an alleyway. After bringing her to his flat he sees to her wounds while trying to understand how things could have gone so wrong for her. He listens intently as she over the next 8 chapters recounts the lushly branched-‐out and multi faceted story of her life, rich in associations and interjecting incidents.
This is meant to be Lars Von Trier’s Hardcore Porn flick he talked about in his infamous pro-nazi press conference with Charlotte Gainsbourg that woman we will follow with we think Joe will be Skarsgaard with what we’ve learned a rubber penis for those hardcore and softcore scenes. Gainsbourg is certainly a glutten for punishment as it seems Von Trier is even keeping whats in store for her and Lars Von Trier that can be anything. As for the questions will the cast actually perform the hardcore scenes the actress has said there will be ‘porn actors’ will do those scenes with the actual cast doing the rest.
So even with tomorrow’s European film market Nymphomaniac has already been sold to many countries and this summer the film will shoot but what festival or where will Lars Von Trier use as his centre stage to show the finished film in 2013 with Cannes now off the agenda?
