The UK Box Office has new number film in the shape of Aardman Animation’s Arthur Christmas.
After 4 weeks in the box office Twihard’s worldwide shed a tear in pain as there beloved Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part One only last a couple weeks.A fantastic week at the box office of £1.9million saw Aardman’s fantastic Christmas family film become UK’s number one film taking £11.48m overall since its release.
In the family side of big films this week saw 2 massive releases with Happy Feet 2 which went straight into the number two slot ahead Twilight Saga into Number three slot with Martin Scorsese’s Hugo behind in fourth. The other new release of this week was the prequel to the John Carpenter’s The Thing which makes up the fifth spot.
Peter Taylor, Managing Director, Sony Pictures Releasing UK, said today “Opening a movie at No. 1 in such a competitive market as the UK is difficult enough, but to reach the top of the chart in the fourth week of release is almost unprecedented. We are all delighted.”
