I’ve never really caught onto the notion that Christmas build up seems to start earlier and earlier every year until this year.My little home town is next to Glasgow Scotland’s Largest city we have unfortunately a scrooge nationalist council who decided to combine guy fawkes and Christmas celebrations together last weekend. You might think thats a money saving move but its not, but lets move to this weekend and we have the first of the Christmas themed films released yesterday Arthur Christmas.
Like at certain parts of the year when we have big celebrations (Halloween, easter, Christmas) alot of the films tend to be a little predictable, generic forgettable affairs however Arthur Christmas just seems to have some charm about it that attracts you in. Apart from the fantastic cast of James McAvoy, Jim Broadbent, Bill Nighy, Hugh Laurie, Imelda Staunton lending their voice talents to this great film, Arthur Christmas is also a Aardman Animation film, the group that brought us the fabulous Wallace & Gromitt films so that should be enough to get you excited about this one.
Arthur Christmas, an Aardman production for Sony Pictures Animation, at last reveals the incredible, never-before seen answer to every child’s question: ‘So how does Santa deliver all those presents in one night?’ The answer: Santa’s exhilarating, ultra-high-tech operation hidden beneath the North Pole. But at the heart of the film is a story with the ingredients of a Christmas classic – a family in a state of comic dysfunction and an unlikely hero, Arthur, with an urgent mission that must be completed before Christmas morning dawns.
Check out the video interviews from some of the cast of Arthur Christmas as they chat about about the film and the fun they had working on it, Arthur Christmas is out now in UK&Ireland and November 23rd in USA.
