“Mirror Mirror On The Wall, Who’s The Awesome one of them All?” This trailer!!! Behold The first official trailer for Universal Pictures Snow White And The Huntsman directed by Robert Sanders. 2012 seems to be the year many films will be based on classic Children’s tales and this one is one of several versions of The Snow White story coming next year (Tarsem Singh Mirror Mirror been the other), Sander’s version focusing on the dark fantasy action elements. Don’t expect the singing dwarves as seen in the original Walt Disney classic version but what we get is Kristen Stewart(in her first post Twilight role) as Snow white who the evil queen played by Charlize Theron who wants her dead. The Queen sends out the Huntsman played by Chris Hemsworth to kill Snow White but ends up saving her life and training her in the art of combat and survival. I would say it was the right thing Viggo Mortensen did pull out as you would have found it hard not to call him Aragon , we’ll have to wait and see if Thor was the right choice when the film arrives next summer. After 75 plus years of one version only on the classic fairytale it is sort of refreshing to see a new darker version which hopefully attract more cinephiles to check the film out.
Snow White And The Huntsman has a fantastic cast behind it with with Sam Clafin as the prince, Ian McShane , Eddie Izzard with Nick Frost, Ray Winstone, Toby Jones, Johnny Harris, Bob Hoskins, Eddie Marsan and Brian Gleeson all playing the dwarfs. So is it Snow White ala Lord of The Rings style? Find out on June 1st 2012 when the film arrives in UK &Ireland.
In the epic action-adventure Snow White and the Huntsman, Kristen Stewart (Twilight) plays the only person in the land fairer than the evil queen (Oscar(r) winner Charlize Theron) out to destroy her. But what the wicked ruler never imagined is that the young woman threatening her reign has been training in the art of war with a huntsman (Chris Hemsworth, Thor) dispatched to kill her. Sam Claflin (Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides) joins the cast as the prince long enchanted by Snow White’s beauty and power. The breathtaking new vision of the legendary tale is from Joe Roth, the producer of Alice in Wonderland, producer Sam Mercer (The Sixth Sense) and acclaimed commercial director and state-of-the-art visualist Rupert Sanders.
