John Carter is the debut live action feature film from Andrew Stanton the director of Finding Nemo and stars Taylor Kistch, Willem Dafoe, Samantha Morton, Lyn Collins and Mark Strong.

The past few days we have been starting to eventually new images mostly the diverse array of wonderful but strange creatures, fantastic structures, John Carter looks like what Cowboys & Aliens wanted to be with a big lashings of Avatar with a better director in Andrew Stanton in place. Pixar directors are certainly making big steps into live action with Stanton’s John Carter next month we also have Brad Bird’ s Mission Impossible Ghost Protocol which is looking a perfect tonic for those cinephiles looking for a high octane hangover cure for Christmas over indulgence. Early indications that Stanton has certainly  captured some of the imagination from his early animated flicks, lovable characters, off beat humour and Stanton even gives John a loveable dog like companion in the shape of Woola (see below)!

As well as these  new images, this week also sees the release of the first full length trailer for John Carter which makes its online debut on the morning of this Thursday December 1st. So remember to watch the new trailer here at The Peoples Movies!

From Academy Award®–winning filmmaker Andrew Stanton comes “John Carter”—a sweeping action-adventure set on the mysterious and exotic planet of Barsoom (Mars). “John Carter” is based on a classic novel by Edgar Rice Burroughs, whose highly imaginative adventures served as inspiration for many filmmakers, both past and present. The film tells the story of war-weary, former military captain John Carter (Taylor Kitsch), who is inexplicably transported to Mars where he becomes reluctantly embroiled in a conflict of epic proportions amongst the inhabitants of the planet, including Tars Tarkas (Willem Dafoe) and the captivating Princess Dejah Thoris (Lynn Collins). In a world on the brink of collapse, Carter rediscovers his humanity when he realizes that the survival of Barsoom and its people rests in his hands.
