I love promoting films to the best of my ability, if there was such a thing as cinephiles anonymous I would would be there and probably have opened a cinephile version of the Betty Ford clinic. When a part of your childhood returns to the big screen no matter if your 25 or 75 the buzz and anticipation to see the film will always be monstrous especially if its a show or franchise you adored like The Muppets and tonight a second US Theatrical trailer has appeared online!
Disney must have had some great fun marketing this, us website owners , bloggers can say we have had fun promoting it (I have anyway). Parody trailers, proper trailers (like this one) all showcasing the magic, spirit that made Jim Henson’s creations the most loved puppets in television history a brand of comedy that never feels tired also feels a level that children and adults will find as funny. Its silly, absurd, a little surreal but most of all adorable.
I think we can say this will be the last of the American promotion as the American cinephiles will catch the film next month on November 23rd whilst us all over here the over side of the Atlantic will have to wait until 17th February 2012 before Kermit & Co arrives. I don’t really like such a big gap between American and British release dates however what this gap does shows the difference in the approach to a film promotion, how different each country is and sometimes the British/Irish promotion can be a big let down, but I have my faith Disney UK wont let the fans down over this side!
