It’s finally here, we’ve been talking about it for over the past week or two “When is a new The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo trailer going to arrive?” This morning that wait is over and Sony Pictures have delivered the goods via MSN UK and it’s a wopping trailer lasting under 4 minutes! Though we loved The Muppets parody trailer of the film, but it was that particular trailer that has kept this filming in our memories as it was quite frankly starting to disappear and when the American websites started talking about a 8 minute trailer shown before a Straw Dogs preview we knew a trailer was on the horizon. The first trailer was more a music promo for the pulsating score from Fincher’s award winning score regular Trent Reznor and his Karen O cover of the immigrant song so there’s been a need of some solidity to get the movies plot across along with establishing who the main characters are and it lookslike Sony have delivered the goods as well up the tension stakes in the movie too.
The spotlight for this movie will be on Rooney Mara as this role is such a dark deep emotional role that brought Noomi Rapace internal recognition so a little bit of pressure will be on Mara but from this trailer it seems she’s doing a fine job so far. As for Daniel Craig as Mikael Blomkvist he looks solid as well though his Swedish English accent is a little Dick Van Dyke meets Swedish chef.
For the very few people out there who may not have seen or read or just never heard of The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, Daniel Craig plays an investigative journelist Mikael Blomkvist who just lost a legal case with someone whose he was investigating is hired by Henrik Vanger (Christopher Plummer), patriarch of a family who have some very nasty dark secrets to investigate the murder of Henrik’s niece Harriet a murder thats haunted Henrik for 40 years or more. Eventually Blomkvist joins forces with hacker researcher Lisbeth Salander who both work on the mystery unveiling even more complicated dark secrets.
Less talking enjoy the trailer!
The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo also stars Robin Wright, Joely Richardson, Stellan Skarsgard, Christopher Plummer, Goran Visnjic, Embeth Davidtz and Geraldine James, and hits the UK on December 26.
