First TV Spot &Poster For The Rum Diary

Never mix drink with anything it spells trouble but mix a Hunter S Thompson story with alcohol throw in Johnny Depp and what do we get? The Rum Diary! As seen back in the 1990’s with Fear And Loathing Las Vegas  Hunter s Thompson’s stories seem to have been made for Johnny Depp as there a match made in heaven so now 14 plus years later they meet again and entertaining movie looks on the cards.

The Rum Diary stars Depp as divorced alcoholic Paul Kemp a journalist who heads to San Juan Puerto Rico to work but finds himself embroiled in corruption! The movie stars  Aaron Eckhart, Richard Jenkins, Amber Heard, and Giovanni Ribisi. Check out the movies first tv spot and new poster below.

The Rum Diary is due for release in UK&Ireland on November 4th.

The Rum Diary tells the increasingly unhinged story of itinerant journalist Paul Kemp (Depp). Tired of the noise and madness of New York and the crushing conventions of late Eisenhower-era America, Kemp travels to the pristine island of Puerto Rico to write for a local San Juan newspaper run by the downtrodden editor Lotterman (Jenkins). Adopting the rum-soaked lifestyle of the late ‘50s version of Hemingway’s “The Lost Generation,” Paul soon becomes entangled with a very attractive American woman, Chenault (Heard) and her fiancée Sanderson (Eckhart), a businessman involved in shady property development deals.  It is within this world that Kemp ultimately discovers his true voice as a writer and integrity as a man.
