The next month Toronto Film Festival will be upon us, in about 3 weeks and this year TIFF have been very slow with sending out the official press releases for this years fest (or simply they have forgotten us despite been on the official press list!). However plenty of new images and trailers have hit the internet and below is one of them Page Eight a new spy drama from David Hare (The Hours) starring Bill Nighy, Rachel Weisz, Michael Gambon, Ralph Fiennes , Ewen Bremner, Felicity Jones and Judy Davis.
The movie made its world premiere at this year’s Edinburgh Film Festival leaving with below average reviews which is a shame when you see the movies line up which includes Professor Dumbledore and Voldemort! (Gambon & Feinnes). David hare is an renowned writer but this is his feature directoral debut which looks a disappointing start but now the North American cinephiles will get there chance as the movie when the movie closes this years Toronto Film Festival.
If your looking for a proper thriller you should checkt out Tinker, Tailor Soldier Spy either that bring yourself a pillow for when you dose of with boredom.Check out the short promo trailer brought to you courtesy of the festival’s Youtube site
Johnny Worricker (Bill Nighy) is a long-serving M15 officer. His boss and best friend Benedict Baron (Michael Gambon) dies suddenly, leaving behind him an inexplicable file, threatening the stability of the organization. Meanwhile, a seemingly chance encounter with Johnny’s striking next-door neighbour and political activist Nancy Pierpan (Rachel Weisz) seems too good to be true. Set in London and Cambridge, Page Eight is a contemporary spy film which addresses intelligence issues and moral dilemmas peculiar to the new century.
