Whilst Marc Forster is in Glasgow with Brad Pitt creating World War Z having the city play as Philadelphia overran with zombies (should go to the city on a saturday night plenty of candidates to be zombies) his next movie Machine Gun Preacher has had its trailer premiered online. The movie stars my fellow Paisley man Gerard Butler as Sam Childs in a real life story of a former violent drug dealer turn aid worker cleaning up his act heading to Sudan finding himself picking up a gun to protect the children been kidnapped by a local warlord who wants them to be in his army.When it comes to Butler he certainly best when he has a gun in his hand and involved in some scuffle with some nasty people as well as a man full of redemption, so expect so heavy action filled with some morality.
Machine Gun Preacher will make its world premiere at next month’s Toronto Film Festival with the movie getting a limited release in USA on September 23rd but for all of us here in UK&Ireland we have a slightly longer wait until November 18th. The movie also boast a decent support cast of Michael Shannon and Michelle Monaghan.
