The official first posters for The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn have been released online.

Before I was  introduced to the great American comic book characters, that dominate the movie adaptations, my childhood comic books where the Beano, 2000AD and  Roy Of The Rovers; I could go to the library and pick up the Asterix and Tin Tin graphic novels. I’m sure non UK/Irish movie fans mybe a bit lost on those titles I mentioned, but most adults now 30 years or older will have nostalgic memories of those comics and many others Ive not mentioned. I am curious to see the reaction of the movie in USA and having not been to America I dont know how popular Tin Tin was, especially in a country where Marvel & DC Comics dominated the market. It would be  interesting to see, so if your American let us know!

As you’ll see we have 2 posters below, The first being the UK poster with the latter being the American poster. You’ll notice both are completely different. Starting with The British poster we see our hero Tin Tin the young reporter with his faithful whiskey drinking Canine buddy Snowy (in Yogi Bear stylee ‘smarter than your average dog’!), Tin Tin has his Jimmy Somerville hairstyle, though we cant just quite see if the signature blue jumper is there, but Ill assume it will be. In this poster we can see that the background they have opted for is a globe style with a vintage sea plane and the first look at the Unicorn. Looking at the American poster we can see they have opted for the Unicorn docked at harbour rather than the globe trotting background which represents the type of character Tin Tin is.

Tin Tin is a motion capture movie (Mars Needs Moms is the recent example of motion capture), but it does boast an impressive cast that includes the likes of: Jamie Bell, Daniel Craig, Andy Serkis, Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, Cary Elwes, Toby Jones, Mackenzie Crook, and Daniel Mays. The crew are just as impressive Peter Jackson & Steven Spielberg  producing/directing with Doctor Who writer Stephen Moffat co-writing the screen play with Edgar wright and Joe Cornish (Attack The Block).

So are you as excited about this as we are? leave your comments below! If you are you’ll been keen to know the movies first trailer will be online tomorrow, so remember to check back here at The People’s Movies!

The Adventures of Tin Tin: Secret of The Unicorn will be released in UK & Ireland on October 26th and USA December 23rd.
