New Survivor Short & UK Poster For STAKE LAND, Meet 'Sister'

17th June Jim Mickle’s Post Apocalyptic vampire flick STAKE LAND will be released  in UK & Ireland by Metrodome who have sent us a new short/clip and UK poster.

The clip/short is another ‘survivor’ short this time for ‘Sister’ played by 1980’s film icon Kelly McGillis (Top Gun) and gives you a little insight into her character with the story leading up to her appearance in Stake land. So far we have alread seen the shorts for Martin &Belle , Jebediah &Willie  (click on their names to watch there shorts), hopefully we will get one for Mister (Nick Damici) and we will have one for all the main characters. I was fortunate to see this at Glasgow film festival and was really impressed by the low-fi, dark gritty feel of the movie and how people try to survive in a burned violent world.

America is a lost nation. When an epidemic of vampirism strikes, humans find themselves on the run from vicious, feral beasts. Cities are tombs and survivors cling together in rural pockets, fearful of nightfall. When his family is slaughtered, young Martin (Gossip Girl’s Connor Paolo) is taken under the wing of a grizzled, wayward hunter (In the Cut’s Nick Damici) whose new prey are the undead. Simply known as Mister, the vampire stalker takes Martin on a journey through the locked-down towns of America’s heartland, searching for a better place while taking down any bloodsuckers that cross their path. Along the way they recruit fellow travellers, including a nun (Kelly McGillis) who is caught in a crisis of faith when her followers turn into ravenous beasts. This ragtag family unit cautiously moves north, avoiding major thoroughfares that have been seized by The Brethren, a fundamentalist militia headed by Jebedia Loven (Tony award-winning actor Michael Cerveris) that interprets the plague as the Lord’s work.

The movie stars  Connor PaoloNick DamiciKelly McGillisDanielle HarrisBonnie DennisonMarianne HaganChance KellyAdam Scarimbolo, and Sean Nelson.
