Fighting Corruption Rachel Weisz in THE WHISTLEBLOWER

Corruption is around us, anything that gives power to a peron or persons there is corruption or the temptation of someone to exploit. Sadly every day in the news we here about corruption from the thieving British Banks to war torn countries it’s everywhere and after a long wait for a distributor we can finally see another piece of corruption on the big screen with THE WHISTLEBLOWER. The stars Rachel Weisz in a movie based on the true story of Kathryn Bolkovac a American Police woman who serves a peacekeeper in war torn Bosnia  learning that corruption is rife through the U.N. Only there to help the peace she quickly learns that sex trafficking is rife especially with Children and she trys to uncover the whole scandal but is met by resistance from powerful forces.

All corruption should be exposed especially when it involves children. This movie actually made its premiere back at Toronto Film Festival 2010, there was a promo trailer around but now Samuel Golden-Mayer have picked up the rights and released the trailer below. The Whistleblower also stars Vanessa Redgrave, Monica Bellucci, David Strathairn and Liam Cunningham no word yet on a UK or Irish release, In USA the movie will be released Augist 5th.

Inspired by actual events, Kathy (Academy Award(R) winner Rachel Weisz) is an American police officer who takes a job working as a peacekeeper in post-war Bosnia. Her expectations of helping to rebuild a devastated country are dashed when she uncovers a dangerous reality of corruption, cover-up and intrigue amid a world of private contractors and multinational diplomatic doubletalk. Directed by first time filmmaker Larysa Kondracki, the film also stars Academy Award winner Vanessa Redgrave, Monica Bellucci and Academy Award nominee David Strathairn
