Like any big well known part names galore are thrown into the hat to play that character and gossip as well as rumour fly around and 75% there usually wrong and the part goes to someone unexpected and in Zack Snyder’s case with Superman reboot. Warner Bros today have annouced British actor Henry Cavill has been casted to play Clark Kent aka Superman!!!
He may not be as well known outside his native Britain as his push into Hollywood moviewise has been at small parts in such movies as Stardust, Tristan & Isolede, but he will be most known for his role in the popular BBC period drama The Tudors. Cavill’s casting be Superman now makes it a trio as in British actors playing American comic books greateast superheros with Andrew Garfield been Peter Parker aka Spiderman in Marc Webb’s upcoming reboot and Christan Bale as Bruce Wayne, Batman.
Empire Magazine dubbed him once “The most unlucky man in Hollywood” as he lost out to Brandon Routh in the last Superman reboot. He was also been considered for Her majesy’s secret service a few years back which Daniel Craig won plus he was been considered for Bruce Wayne to in Christopher Nolan’s Batman movies. This looks like a good choice in Snyders sake by going for a lesser known name instead of major name as this is when you can say the popular culture character is actually bigger than who plays the part, though a decent name can help too.
No word yet on the actual storyline of the movie and who will be actually be in it co-starring with Cavill but im sure when the big parts have been confirmed the gossip will start with the rest of the possible cast. Its going to be very intersting to read the reactions, comments from the media, critics and of course you guys the general public as it’s us who’ll watch the movie and judge if its a sucess or fail. So what do you think folks surprised? Is it a good choice or a bad choice? Please leaveyour comments below.
