Kathryn Bigelow proved to the world at this years Oscars that Movieland is not just a mans world its a world for everyone its just down to how good at storytelling you are, by sweeping the boards with The Hurt Locker. Like any first time winners or even winner of many oscars the pressure is for the next project to match the sucess or even better it, so with news that Kathryn Bigelow and Mark Boal about to work on Triple Frontier the movie about organised crime you would think the pairs hands are already full. Triple Frontier already has Tom Hanks to appear in the movie which is due to start shooting later in 2011, the Hurt Locker due want to fit another movie in before they start on Triple Frontier!
According to Variety the pair want to go all out guerilla style and film something fast well before TripleFrontier starts filming, the movie to be done in the same way they created The Hurt Locker. There’sno script been written yet but the pair have been apparently been shopping the idea around various film studios to get the idea up and running as soon as possible and if sucessfull they would be looking for around $10 million for funding like The Hurt Locker.
As for what the movie maybe about Bigelow & Boal are keeping that idea close to there chest at the moment but we do know is that it’ll be based on true events or story which has been already published possibly on Black Ops,mmm wouldnt it be cool if it was on the game Call Of Duty:Black Ops? mmm!!!
With under a year to go before Triple Frontier starts filming Bigelow & Boal insist this movie if it gets the green light wont effect the schedule for Triple Frontier, its just the reality of how big that movies going to be so its taking longer to put together so they want something to do quick in the meantime. Can you blame them? Its good to have something else on your mind when another project is taking longer than they expected so what better thing can a filmmaker do to fill up sparetime by making a quick movie, now thats passion!!!
