The New Trailer & Poster For Epic Roman Movie THE EAGLE

Apple have released the offical full trailer For Kevin MacDonald‘s (State Of Play, Last King Of Scotland) Epic Roman action movie THE EAGLE. The movie was originally called Eagle Of The Ninth and was originally targeted for a similar release as Michael Fassbender‘s Centurion but Focus Features have been constantly changing the release date and has put a slight dampner on the movie. The other lowpoint of this movie is Channing Tatum as the lead actor, sadly he cant really pull off and keep a movie flowing.

The Eagle is very similar storyline to Centurion which sees us in Britian back in 141AD when the Romans ruled the roost with Tatum playing  the son of the Roman general Flavius Aquina who led 5,000 soldiers to their mysterious death in the northern regions of Britian or in lamens terms Scotland!!! Tatum’s character wants to get the symbol of his legion back  the eagle of the ninth legion and has slave Esca (Jamie Bell) to guide him but he believes he’ll betray him.

I hope this movie will some credability to Tatums name and get people onto a positive side for the young actor thanksfully Bell is a decent actor and helps the movie flow along with the other cast which include Donald Sutherland, Mark Strong and Tahar Rahim (une prophete).

THE EAGLE is set for a February 25th USA release, no word yet on The British/Irish date just yet

In 140 AD, two men – master and slave – venture beyond the edge of the known world on a dangerous and obsessive quest that will push them beyond the boundaries of loyalty and betrayal, friendship and hatred, deceit and heroism…The Roman epic adventure THE EAGLE stars Channing Tatum and Jamie Bell and is directed by Academy Award winner Kevin Macdonald. 20 years earlier, Rome’s 5,000-strong Ninth Legion, under the command of Flavius Aquila, marched north carrying their treasured golden Eagle emblem. They never returned; Legion and Eagle simply vanished into the mists. Hearing a rumor that the Eagle has been seen in a tribal temple in the far north, Flavius’ son Marcus (Tatum), determined to restore the tarnished reputation of his father, is galvanized into action. Accompanied only by his slave Esca (Bell), Marcus sets out into the vast and dangerous highlands of Scotland – to confront its savage tribes, make peace with his father’s memory, and retrieve the hallowed Eagle. Along the way Marcus realizes that the mystery of his father’s disappearance may well be linked to the secret of his own slave’s identity and loyalty – a secret all the more pressing when the two come face-to-face with the warriors of the fearsome Seal Prince (Tahar Rahim).
