As the Brothers Struasse Cloverfield invasion style sci-fi movie Skyline hits the cinema today Sony Entertainment pulla fast one ala Despicable Me (who released a new trailer on Toy Story 3 American release) and release the first trailer for BATTLE: LOS ANGELES via Apple. Apart from movies genre bot movies are connected in the fact that Brother’s Strause directed Skyline but there the VFX gurus on this movie BATTLE:LOS ANGELES and at the same time pissing off Universal Pictures by not letting them know they where creating Skyline, so its the battle of the earth invasion movies!!!
Its seem The movie is actually called WORLD INVASION: Battle LA probably something to do with a small movie called Battle of Los Angeles coming out next year and to bring the world in unison in dark times the new name is a little appropiate. As Skyline has been described as Cloverfield style Battle La has been described as Black Hawk Down meets Independence Day its got the black hawk down approach but as for Independence Day I dont really see any resemblance apart from Alien invaders, as theres no sign of the old cliched White House been blasted to smithereens but hopefully they dont go down that road. What I do like about this is the realistic feel to it, its gritty, crude and emotive and there is a big hand held approach which gives the movie that realistic feel giving you the sense of actually been in the invasion!
Just as I was getting the coding sorted for the trailer I came across Collider who through there Brazilian counterparts an Interntional trailer has crept online and there is a difference of styles between the trailers. The main teaser trailer the bold haunting non dialogue affair the Brazilian trailer takes the more traditional approach of the voiceover, action, I like both but the main one does it for me more! So Im sold this looks fantastic, what about you guys?
