Dont you just hate it when you follow the progress of a movie from the start, it does a little trip around the festivals and BOOM! some fatcat sitting in a office in Hollywood says lets make some money of this release it at christmas and then next year rip off everyone by dishing out a poor Hollywood flop and I can see it happening for this beauty, RARE EXPORTS: A CHRISTMAS TALE.

Just in time for the start of the Christmas season Finnish action fantasty comedy is been released in USA (Im unsure of the uk/Irish date but I do believe it will be around Christmas time anyway, been releeased by Icon ) and through apple the American trailer which is fun trailer but well below the standard of the actual Finnish trailer but im not surprised as 95% of the great foreign movies get destroyed by Hollywood (be it massive cuts to original movie or a crap remake). You do get to see how manianical the movie is , its like a cross between  The Things and one of those old black&white classical Christmas movies. The reviews are good so far for the movie and its garunteed it will get a massive cult following.

Synopsis:
It’s the eve of Christmas in northern Finland and an “archeological” dig has just unearthed the real Santa Claus. But this particular Santa isn’t the one you want coming to town. When all the local children begin mysteriously disappearing, young Pietari and his father Rauno, a reindeer hunter by trade, capture the mythological being and attempt to sell Santa to the misguided leader of the multinational corporation sponsoring the dig.

Santa’s elves, however, will stop at nothing to free their fearless leader from captivity. What ensues is a wildly humorous nightmare – a fantastically bizarre polemic on modern day morality. RARE EXPORTS: A CHRISTMAS TALE is a re-imagining of the most classic of all childhood fantasies, and is a darkly comic gem soon to be required perennial holiday viewing.
