Stellan Skarsgard Close to Appearing in Fincher's Girl With The Dragon Tattoo Remake

It looks another cast member has been found for David Fincher’s remake of the steig Larrson’s THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO and guess what that new cast member aint for Lisbeth Salander!!!

According to Vulture Swedish actor Stellan Skarsgard will be joining the cast as Martin Vanger the prime suspect of forty year old disappearance of a teenage girl, the character in the original was played by Peter Haber.

“I have met  Fincher, I want to work with him, he wants to work me. I have had a concrete offer and now we are in negotiations,”

“The contract is for the period September to March, but I don’t know yet when I am supposed to start my part of the film.” – Skarsgard told Variety

“Most of it is to be shot in Stockholm, but some studio work will be done in the U.S. I think there might be some location work there as well, when it becomes too dark to shoot here.” – he further commented.

To some people his name may not be as familar as his face he was commander Richter in Angels & Demons, Bill one of the 3 possible fathers in Mama Mia, he was also Bootstrap Bill in The Pirates Of The Carribbean franchise (Orlando Blooms onscreen lost father) and we will see him in next years Thor movie too. Stellan Skarsgard is one of the few actors out there who’ll openly talk about any casting he may or not be involved in and a few years back he did say he was involved in Thor well before the offical confirmation, so this looking 60/40 in favour of been true but like anything until its been printed on paper do treat it as speculation.

Stellan Skarsgard is currently shooting Melancholia for Lars Von Trier but dont be surprised if he is joining Daniel Craig (Mikael Blomkvist) in the cast of The Girl Of The Dragon Tattoo remake. So when will Lisabeth Salander part be annouced good question Fincher could keep us hanging on like Sony did with annoucing Andrew Garfield as the new Spiderman, though Fincher’s movie doesnt have the monster magnet pull of a comicbook movie so keeping people hanging is more likely to frustrate and be dissappointed more when things are annouced
