The first teaser trailer for the remake of DONT BE AFFRAID OF THE DARK has been released online by Miramax Films.The trailer was previewed along with extra footage at the Comic-Con last week and thanks to Myspace the rest of the world can enjoy.

The movie has been co-written and produced by none other than Guillermo del Toro with new director Troy Nixey at the helm and the movie stars Katie Holmes, Guy Pearce, Bailee Madison and Alan Dale.

The film centers on a family living in a 19th-century mansion, which they are renovating, when young Sally (Bailee Madison) unwittingly lets loose a race of ancient, dark-dwelling creatures who conspire to drag her down into the mysterious house’s bottomless depths. She must convince Alex (Pearce) and Kim (Holmes) that it’s not a fantasy-before the evil lurking in the dark consumes them all.

The movie is due out in USA on January 21st, 2011 as for UK & Ireland no confirmed date yet as usual but we could be looking at around April 2011 before we all see it.
