News from the movie world usually a quiet at the weekends as many people are at the flicks checking out the new movies, myself I just got back in late afternoon from watching my football team win. What I find is an sneak peek into to Nimrod Antal’s adaptation of the classic horror fantasy franchise Predators which is scheduled for a July 9th USA release (no date yet for UK or Ireland, theres a surprise!).

Below is an 2 minute sneak which is rather more like a 2 minute Behind the scenes featurette as its introduced by Robert Rodriguez (who is the artistic voice on this reboot) and every few seconds its shots back to him, scene,etc… This sneek peek was shown last night at Austin Texas SXSW Festival. What we do see is very shiny, sleek production and those Predator look like there going to be nasty as ever, probably more than Arnie and Danny Glover’s versions. Adrien Brody isn’t a actor I would tend to see as an action movie star but he does look very convincing as the movies hero.

offical Synopsis (via Collider):A bold new chapter in the Predator universe, Predators was shot on location under Rodriguez’s creative auspices at the filmmaker’s Austin-based Troublemaker Studios, and is directed by Nimród Antal. The film stars Adrien Brody as Royce, a mercenary who reluctantly leads a group of elite warriors who come to realize they’ve been brought together on an alien planet… as prey. With the exception of a disgraced physician, they are all cold-blooded killers – mercenaries, Yakuza, convicts, death squad members – human “predators” that are now being systemically hunted and eliminated by a new breed of alien Predators. In addition to Adrien Brody, the film stars Topher Grace, Alice Braga, and Laurence Fishburne. Co-starring are Walton Goggins, Danny Trejo, Oleg Taktarov and Mahershalalhashbaz Ali.
