Here is 3 new TV spots for the up coming Western adaptation of the classic Japanese Anime Astroboy by Osuma Tezuka. The movie has caused a little stir among some fans of the original simply due to the fact the animation to many looks very American. The other thing that argued many was that Astroboy in the original is only a 9 year old boy but in this he is a 17 year old boy!!!

The voice cast is caused a few debates with Nicholas Cage as the voice of Father and I have to say when you watch the Father tv spot, Nick Cage is at his best with his voice Mister one dimensional, not very convicing. Im sitting on the fence at the moment until I see the actual movie but I can see the case for a good animation and points against it.

I wrote a article a few months back here’s the link have a read and tell me what you think, but before then watch the tv spots. Astroboy is out January 29th 2010 in UK and Ireland and 23rd October in USA.
