Netflix Release George RR Martin’s Nightflyers Teaser Trailer

All good things must come to an end someday and George RR Martin‘s Game Of Thrones that day is nigh. Fear not, Netflix (SyFy in the USA) has your next source of violence of mayhem with Nightflyers.

We’ll replace the swords, clans, and dragons with the dark realms of deep space. Earth is dying a crew of explorers must explore space, they confront an alien spaceship. Whatever you do…Do not board the ship, it’s a warning, not a distress call!!!

From epic fantasy drama to sci-fi thriller, the realm of deep space where no one can hear you scream. The trailer is only 37 seconds long and from the blood screens and on the characters the blood and guts you like in GoT will be there. Is it Aliens or is it, other humans?

I’m going to be brutally honest here, I’ve never seen Game Of Thrones, I don’t have Sky Atlantic (thanks, Virgin Media!). If I go by the words Martin said to Radio Times about this 10 part series…“Nightflyers is a haunted house story on a starship. It’s Psycho in space. I can’t wait to actually see it come alive on the screen.” Count me in!

Based on George R. R. Martin’s novella, Nightflyers is set in the future on the eve of Earth’s destruction. A crew of explorers journey on the most advanced ship in the galaxy, The Nightflyer, to intercept a mysterious alien spacecraft that might hold the key to their survival. As the crew nears their destination, they discover that the ship’s artificial intelligence and never-seen captain may be steering them into deadly and unspeakable horrors deep in the dark reaches of space.

Nightflyers doesn’t have an exact release date, hence this trailer is only a teaser. We do expect the series will be out sometime in 2018.

The series will star Boardwalk Empire’s Gretchen Mol, Eoin Macken, David Ajala, Sam Strike, Maya Eshet, Angus Sampson, Jodie Turner-Smith and Brían F. O’Byrne.
