First Venom Trailer, An Antihero Is Born!

An antihero is born! Sony Pictures has released the first official Trailer for Venom, it’s a teaser not much is revealed.

Spider-Man fans rejoiced when they’re friendly neighbourhood web-slinger was rebooted allowed to enter the Marvel Cinematic Universe. After being teased in Captain America: Civil War he was finally established next to Marvel’s finest heroes. Last Summer he got the new solo movie he was promised and now that world is expanding.

Tom Hardy is no stranger to psychotic comic book characters, as he originally played Bane in The Dark Knight Rises. Now he’s Eddie Brock, a washed up Journalist who crosses paths with the Alien Symbiote. The symbiote came first into contact with Spider-Man which gave him increased power as well as increased aggression. It’s when Peter Parker throws away the symbiote it finds Brock and Venom is born!

This trailer is essentially a teaser, no sign of Venom himself. More introducing Brock and key players in the movie, did we see the back of Peter Parker (Tom Holland)? But can they make this movie without him?

There’s still a veil of mystery surrounding this movie especially in what direction may take.Has he created as simply as a one-off spin-off movie? Is it purely for Sony’s own ‘Marvel Universe’ or will he step into MCU? All we know is the movie will be based in the Spider-man: Homecoming universe with Marvel insisting he won’t go any further than that.

Like the trailer, Sony Pictures has released a very brief synopsis that reveals nothing apart from our antihero been a ‘Lethal Protector’. What is he protecting?

Synopsis
