Teen Titans GO! to the Movies First Trailer Gives DC Hope

Marvel’s Cinematic Universe is leagues ahead of DC Universe but could things be changing this Summer? Cartoon Network‘s Teen Titans animation is getting its own movie Teen Titans GO! to the Movies giving DC deflated cinematic universe hope.

Today Warner Bros. has sent us the first UK Trailer which showcases some of DC’s greatest heroes as teens. Like any superhero, they have to start somewhere. This teaser trailer highlights the long-running shows trademark satire. With Wonder Woman and Aquaman the butt of the jokes, potty mouth jokes in which DC’s Finest love to…Fart!

2018 is going to be a big year for an animation with the likes of The Incredibles 2, Spiderverse. Hard to believe the cartoon version of Teen Titans might just help gain DC some respectability. What better way to kickstart the movie to piggyback on Wonder Woman’s success. This is a movie aimed at the young ones, but market the movie the right way, they could be onto a winner!

When the Teen Titans go to the big screen, they go big! “Teen Titans GO! to the Movies” finds our egocentric, wildly satirical Super Heroes in their first feature film extravaganza—a fresh, gleefully clever, kid-appropriately crass and tongue-in-cheek play on the superhero genre, complete with musical numbers.

It seems to the Teens that all the major superheroes out there are starring in their own movies—everyone but the Teen Titans, that is! But de facto leader Robin is determined to remedy the situation and be seen as a star instead of a sidekick. If only they could get the hottest Hollywood film director to notice them. With a few madcap ideas and a song in their heart, the Teen Titans head to Tinsel Town, certain to pull off their dream. But when the group is radically misdirected by a seriously Super-Villain and his maniacal plan to take over the Earth, things really go awry. The team finds their friendship and their fighting spirit failing, putting the very fate of the Teen Titans themselves on the line!

Teen Titans GO! to the Movies will be released in the UK and Ireland on 3rd August (The USA is 27th July). The movie stars the voices of the TV shows cast of Scott Menville (Robin), Hynden Walch (Starfire), Tara Strong (Raven), Khary Payton (Cyborg), and Greg Cipes (Beast Boy). Will Arnett and Kristen Bell also lend their voice talents.
