Watch The Stylishly Solid Ocean’s 8 Trailer It’s Badass!

You wonder why it’s taken them so long to make it and Summer 2018, it will finally arrive, an all-female version of Ocean’s 11…Ocean’s 8. Last week we got our glimpse at the movies first teaser poster with the slogan ‘Every Con has its pro’ now we have the first Trailer.

Watch ‘Mummy’ go her ‘Very Special Work Trip’…

From the word go The Ocean’s 11 influenced is seen which may lead some to ask, ‘do we really need another remake of a remake?’. At this point, it’s really hard to say what the differences will be. Is it a remake of an all-female heist team or a spin-off?

It certainly shares the style of Steven Soderbergh‘s movies and the trailer does highlight the connection to establish this is an Ocean’s movie. What the trailer does also do is introduce all the character and their traits. Sandra Bullock is the Brains, Debbie Ocean, Danny’s sister (George Clooney) with Cate Blanchett playing the Brad Pitt old friend, the anchor. Rihanna is the hacker, 9ball a little mysterious highlighting the potential technology route the ladies will use. Mandy Kalling the jewelry expert, Sarah Paulson the suburban mum who probably has a few tricks up her sleeve. Awkwafina is the street hustler, Helena Boham-Carter a fashion designer. So is Anne Hathaway the target or a ‘plant’ to take on the villain played by Damian Lewis?

We still don’t really have a properly detailed synopsis yet apart from one line – “The tide has turned and it’s a whole new “Ocean’s” when eight women plan and execute a heist in New York.“. This is one of those movies that won’t really get a detailed one, as it’s a ‘revival’ of a franchise rather than a reboot. In the similar vein they did to Ghostbusters, but this time this one should get a more welcomed response. The tone, pace, and brand of humour are all on show and even those cameos get trailer time too. Can you spot them?

Ocean’s 8 will be released in the UK and Irish Cinemas from June 2018, co-starring Richard Armitage, Olivia Munn and Matt Damon.
