Life Of A Teenage Psychopath In New Thoroughbreds Trailer

Daddy dearest you’re ‘little girls’ want you dead and in Thoroughbreds, they plot his death. After a teaser trailer last month now Universal Pictures release the full UK Trailer. Which properly introduces our scheming childhood friends played by Anya Taylor-Joy and Olivia Cooke.

We learn a little more about 2 friends, teenage psychopaths, rich bored girls with money to throw away. But as you watch the trailer both girls are not on the same level plane with only one of the girls a sociopath, the other showing signs of empathy.

Dark, twisted, hedonistic black comedy, check out the trailer…

The trailer does a great job to show off why this movie was a hit at this year’s Sundance Film Festival. It’s the old burning question, does the general public share the same enthusiasm? Hopefully, they will as this has a unique tone to it that reminds me a little of Heathers, even American Psycho. Taylor-Joy and Cooke show they are both getting closer to that breakthrough movie, this may be it?

Childhood friends Lily and Amanda reconnect in suburban Connecticut after years of growing apart. Lily has turned into a polished, upper-class teenager, with a fancy boarding school on her transcript and a coveted internship on her resume; Amanda has developed a sharp wit and her own particular attitude, but all in the process of becoming a social outcast. Though they initially seem completely at odds, the pair bond over Lily’s contempt for her oppressive stepfather, Mark, and as their friendship grows, they begin to bring out one another’s most destructive tendencies. Their ambitions lead them to hire a local hustler, Tim, and take matters into their own hands to set their lives straight.

Thoroughbreds will be released in the UK and Ireland on 9th March 2018. The movie also stars Paul Sparks and Anton Yelchin in his final role (or one of them).
