The Stakes Are High In Molly’s Game UK Trailer Starring Jessica Chastain

This has been a long time coming but now we have the first official UK trailer for Aaron Sonkin‘s directorial feature debut Molly’s Game. Starring Jessica Chastain is the ‘Poker Princess’ the high stakes true story of an Olympic class Skier turned Poker player. Her playing with the rich and famous attracts the attention of the FBI.

After years of writing great scripts for the likes of David Fincher (The Social Network), Bennett Miller (Moneyball) you wonder how it’s taken so long for him to take the step up. After making its World Premiere at Toronto Film Festival last month it seems a great movie largely thanks to rave reviews.

It sounds a fascinating story of a young woman once a cocktail waitress, slowly becoming a Skier to playing poker with Hollywood fraternity and royalty. Jessica Chastain continues to prove she’s one of Hollywood’s best actors consistently proving her worth. On the evidence of this trailer, she may be lining herself for potential Oscar glory?

The focus of the movie seems to be on Molly’s downfall and that everything she did was above board. The dialogue is essential Sorkin, dry, witty and sharp as a razor’s edge!

MOLLY’S GAME is based on the true story of Molly Bloom, an Olympic-class skier who ran the world’s most exclusive high-stakes poker game for a decade before being arrested in the middle of the night by 17 FBI agents wielding automatic weapons. Her players included Hollywood royalty, sports stars, business titans and finally, unbeknownst to her, the Russian mob. Her only ally was her criminal defence lawyer Charlie Jaffey, who learned that there was much more to Molly than the tabloids led us to believe

Molly’s Game will be in UK and Irish cinemas from 26th December. Co-starring Idris Elba, Kevin Costner, Chris O’Dowd, Michael Cera.
