All hail! ‘Long live the king’! Marvel Studios has finally released the full UK trailer for Black Panther, a proper glimpse at the world of Wakanda. Chadwick Boseman burst onto the Marvel Cinematic Universe as our clawed hero T’Challa in Captain America: Civil War. Now it’s time for the Warrior King to have his own adventure and if your looking for action this trailer will deliver the promise.
After a near decade of a distinctive style, it seems Marvel is starting to give new movies the freehold to create their own style. Later this month it’s obvious Takia Waititi‘s Thor: Ragnarok has it, and Ryan Coogler‘s Black Panther has that sense of style too. It’s all exciting for comic book fans and this is very slick, nicely choreographed and the neo-futurism is impressive. When it comes to futuristic settings Africa is one continent that seems to be forgotten, not in this movie. If anything very high tech the visual style very Metropolis ala Fritz Lang, and one hell of a trailer!
Marvel Studios’ “Black Panther” follows T’Challa who, after the death of his father, the King of Wakanda, returns home to the isolated, technologically advanced African nation to succeed to the throne and take his rightful place as king. But when a powerful old enemy reappears, T’Challa’s mettle as king—and Black Panther—is tested when he is drawn into a formidable conflict that puts the fate of Wakanda and the entire world at risk. Faced with treachery and danger, the young king must rally his allies and release the full power of Black Panther to defeat his foes and secure the safety of his people and their way of life.
Black Panther now has the official UK, Irish release date which is 12th February 2018 (The USA 16th February). The movie also stars Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, Martin Freeman, Daniel Kaluuya, Letitia Wright, Winston Duke, Angela Bassett, Forest Whitaker, and Andy Serkis.Powered by Sidelines
