With so much going on in the world, even on our doorstep, we forget there were decades before there was a terror on our streets. Before you say anything it was a different type of terror and in 6 Days retells one of those real life events.Based on the true story of the 1980 Iranian Embassy London hostage siege with Jamie Bell leading the elite SAS soldier into the raid. With Mark Strong attempting to release those involved in less physical ways, check out the new trailer…
Originally Toa Fraser‘s action based thriller was meant to have been released in UK and Irish cinemas last month from Icon Film Distribution. After the last trailer early in the summer something must have happened and now it’s been released on Netflix. The siege made news worldwide, with Margaret Thatcher’s then government refusing to negotiate, sending in the troops to end the siege.Ironically 37 years later the same political party in government and leader Theresa May does negotiate with terrorists.
In April 1980, six armed gunmen stormed the Iranian Embassy in Princes Gate, London, taking 26 people inside hostage. Over the next six days a tense standoff took place, all the while a group of highly trained soldiers from the SAS prepared for a raid, the likes of which the world had never seen before.
6 Days will also be screening at this year’s BFI London Film Festival in October, with Netflix releasing the movie globally on their channel from Friday 3rd November. The movie also stars Abbie Cornish and Martin Shaw.Powered by Sidelines
