New American Assassin Featurettes Look How Assassins Are ‘Made’

Another new month is here and a new set of movies to get excited about like American Assassin. The question you should be asking ‘Do you have what it takes?’ to be an Assassin? Ahead of this month, Lionsgate Film has released two spanking new Featurettes that ask that question. First up is “Means To An End” Featurette which looks at our hero assassin Mitch Rapp played by Dylan Obrien. Second video, “Assassins Are Made” Featurette director Michael Cuesta and author Vince Flynn talk about the movie, the story, Mitch and how it’s in your blood to ‘kill’

After watching the truly awful Stratton (starring Dominic Cooper), my action thriller ego was bruised. However, American Assassin does have an attraction, like a movie from the 1990’s starring the likes of Scott Adkins (who is in this!) which we don’t mind. Anything with Michael Keaton is worth a look and he might be the ideal ‘veteran’ actor to help enhance our young lead actor Dylan O’Brien career. Diversity is the name of the game in acting nowadays and we also love watching movies that request you leave your brain at home and enjoy the ride. This one looks like one of those movies!

AMERICAN ASSASSIN follows the rise of Mitch Rapp (Dylan O’Brien), a CIA black ops recruit under the instruction of Cold War veteran Stan Hurley (Michael Keaton). The pair is then enlisted by CIA Deputy Director Irene Kennedy (Sanaa Lathan) to investigate a wave of apparently random attacks on both military and civilian targets. Together the three discover a pattern in the violence leading them to a joint mission with a lethal Turkish agent (Shiva Negar) to stop a mysterious operative (Taylor Kitsch) intent on starting a World War in the Middle East.

You miss the previous UK trailer, watch it below.

American Assassin is set now for a 14th September UK and Irish cinema release. Starring Taylor Kitsch, Michael Keaton, Sanaa Lathan, Shiva Negar with Michael Cuesta directing.
