The Killer Plays Games In The Snowman New Trailer

After watching Stig Larsen’s Millennium Trilogy books adapted for the small and big screen, Jo Nesbø fans must have been wondering if they will see his books as movies? Thankfully the end of that long road is in sight with The Snowman will finally arrive in our cinemas next month. Back in July, we got chills in our heart when Universal Pictures teased us with the first UK trailer. Today 5 weeks before the cinematic release we get another new UK trailer and our killer is playing games with the police. Step forward the legendary Detective Harry Hole, the ‘loose cannon’ who delivers results.

Many of the Harry Hole based Jo Nesbø books have been in print for a very long time, making you wonder why no was adapted for the big screen at the height of Nordic Noir. Tomas Alfredson who brought us Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy and Let The Right One In looks to be the perfect choice to direct. His distinctive style looks natural for the Nordic look. The killer reminds me a lot of Kevin Spacey John Doe killer from Se7en teasing the Police with clues and ‘little games’. Why does the trailer show, J.K Simmons as someone stalking Hole? Is he the killer or a curveball?

When an elite crime squad’s lead detective (Fassbender) investigates the disappearance of a victim on the first snow of winter, he fears an elusive serial killer may be active again. With the help of a brilliant recruit (Ferguson), the cop must connect decades-old cold cases to the brutal new one if he hopes to outwit this unthinkable evil before the next snowfall.

The Snowman will release in UK & Irish cinemas 13th October(the USA 20th October).Featuring an all-star cast including Rebecca Ferguson, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Val Kilmer, Toby Jones, J.K. Simmons, Chloë Sevigny and Sofia Helin.
