Immerse Yourself In Blade Runner 2049 IMAX Countdown Promo

Peter Kay may have said garlic bread was the future in Pheonix Nights. now IMAX wants to immerse you in the future and today release a Blade Runner 2049 Countdown. A countdown promo to the movie itself which is now only 3 weeks away!

The IMAX release of Blade Runner 2049 will be digitally re-mastered into the image and sound quality of The IMAX Experience┬« with proprietary IMAX DMR┬« (Digital Re-mastering) technology. The crystal-clear images, coupled with IMAX’s customized theatre geometry and powerful digital audio, create a unique environment that will make audiences feel as if they are in the movie.

The actual trailer doesn’t show any actual any new footage but the benefits of watching the movie in IMAX. Only in IMAX will the entire film be specially formatted and presented in an expanded 1.9:1 aspect ratio. This means that the movie will fill more of the screen, and fans will see 26% more of the image in IMAX than standard theatres. Off course the ticket will be more expensive but the visual palette Denis Villeneuve deliver it looks like this will be worth it.

In Blade Runner 2049 we find ourselves Thirty years after the events of the first film, a new blade runner, LAPD Officer K (Ryan Gosling), unearths a long-buried secret that has the potential to plunge what’s left of society into chaos. K’s discovery leads him on a quest to find Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford), a former LAPD blade runner who has been missing for 30 years.

Another short film prequel from help to promote the movie has been released. Entitled 2048: Nowhere To Run is directed by Luke Scott which focuses on Dave Bautista‘s Sapper. Set one year before the upcoming movie which gives a back story to that character.

Blade Runner 2049 will be released in the UK and Ireland 5th October. Harrison Ford, Ryan Gosling, Jared Leto, Robin Wright, Barkhad Abdi, Ana de Armas, Sylvia Hoeks, Lennie James, and Mackenzie Davis.
