BT Grab The UK Rights For Snatch TV Series

Despite the mediocre reviews, Stateside Snatch the tv series is coming to the UK thanks to BT who are exclusively airing the show on AMC TV UK channel.

Today AMC announced that BT Customers will exclusively watch the series from 31st October. The news comes on back of the news that a season two has been ordered Stateside by Sony Pictures Television’s Crackle Network.

Snatch was inspired by a real life heist in London and is based loosely on the wildly popular Guy Ritchie movie of the same name. The drama centres on a group of twenty-something, up-and-coming hustlers who stumble upon a truck load of stolen gold bullion and are suddenly thrust into the high stakes world of organised crime. They must quickly learn to navigate the treacherous waters of London’s underworld as rogue cops, gypsy fighters, international mobsters and local villains descend.

The one noticeable thing is the age of the cast, most are of millennial age group. To many that will not make a big difference it makes the movie-tv connection non-existent to others.

Snatch stars Rupert Grint(the Harry Potter films) as the intelligent but chaotic Charlie Cavendish, Luke Pasqualino (Skins) as the smart, aspirational Albert Hill, Dougray Scott (Desperate Housewives, My Week with Marilyn) as Vic Hill and Juliet Aubrey (Iris) as Lilly Hill, Albert’s criminal parents. Lucien Laviscount (Scream Queens) also stars as Billy Ayres, a wingman to Albert who is rough around the edges. Additionally, Marc Warren (The Good Wife) stars as crooked cop Bob Fink and Stephanie Leonidas (Whitechapel) is the assertive Chloe Kohn, femme fatale in waiting. The series was created and executive produced by Alex De Rakoff (writer/director of Dead Man Running and The Calcium Kid).

Snatch The Series free of charge in the UK to BT customers on the AMC channel, number 332 on BT TV, Every Tuesday at 10pm from 31st October.
