In Trailer For Netflix’s Gypsy Naomi Watts Struggles With Reality

When temptation is in front of you anyone will struggle should they or shouldn’t they, later this month Naomi Watts struggles with her desires and reality. Ahead of its launch globally, Netflix has released a full trailer for Gypsy their 10 part psychological about the therapist with confliction. Sexiest thing on Netflix? Check out the trailer now…

Gypsy is a ten-part psychological thriller that follows Jean Halloway (Naomi Watts), a Manhattan therapist with a seemingly picturesque life who begins to develop intimate and illicit relationships with the people in her patients’ lives. As the borders of Jean’s professional life and personal fantasies become blurred, she descends into a world where the forces of desire and reality are disastrously at odds.

After the disappointing news of Netflix cancelling on of their better shows Sense8, you wonder how can the streaming giants still produce. With the shows that they have cancelled, it proves popularity sometimes viewing figures don’t matter.

From the opening seconds of the trailer, we can see the show is going to be very intense and that client confidentiality Jean is meant to follow went out the window. But is this type story very tired looking or do we have a market for a show that is reminiscent of something Paul Schrader script? Whatever this show goes Naomi Watts looks on form with some critics saying it’s her best since her breakout performance in Mulholland Drive?

In addition to Watts, Gypsy also stars Billy Crudup (Spotlight) as Jean’s husband Michael Halloway, Sophie Cookson (Kingsman) as Sydney, Lucy Boynton (Murder on the Orient Express) as Jean’s patient Allison, and Karl Glusman (Nocturnal Animals) and Jean’s patient Sam.

Gypsy is set for a 30th June release globally including UK&Ireland.
