Caesar Meets Nova In New War For The Planet Of The Apes CLip

War is nearly upon us when next month The War For The Planet Of The Apes arrives in cinemas. Today 20th Century Fox Pictures has released the movies first clip, in which Caesar (Andy Serkis) meets a young mute girl called Nova. Fans of the original 1968 movie might find the young girl’s name familiar as we understand her character pays homage to the young mute woman of the same name.

As the political correctness wasn’t around in the 1960’s when Linda Melson Harrison played Nova, the stories state the actress was hired more for her looks than acting skills. 50 years on the character returns to the rebooted franchise as a young girl played by Amiah Miller whose story has evolved to play what we believe a pivotal part of the story.

As we see in this clip Caesar (Andy Serkis) finds a mysterious abandoned girl named Nova who has no one else to protect her, Caesar reluctantly takes under his care. As the war between apes and humans intensifies, Caesar discovers that Nova is more important than he realised and the future of the planet is in his grasp. She is the future and this clip shows the Apes do have compassion for humans teasing is the pressure Caesar is put under to attack.

In War for the Planet of the Apes, the third chapter of the critically acclaimed blockbuster franchise, Caesar and his apes are forced into a deadly conflict with an army of humans led by a ruthless Colonel. After the apes suffer unimaginable losses, Caesar wrestles with his darker instincts and begins his own mythic quest to avenge his kind. As the journey finally brings them face to face, Caesar and the Colonel are pitted against each other in an epic battle that will determine the fate of both their species and the future of the planet.

War For The Planet Of The Apes will arrive in the UK, Irish Cinemas from 11th July. Co-Starring Woody Harrelson,Steve Zahn, Karin Konoval, Judy Greer, and Terry Notary.
