In 1980 London, the Iranian Embassy the setting for one of the most dramatic sieges ever recorded, and now 6 Days dramatises the whole event. Billy Elliott himself Jamie Bell leads the cast in Toa Fraser’s upcoming movie as Rusty Firmin, leader of one of the SAS assault teams that entered the Iranian Embassy to end the siege.The framework for the film largely follows the perspective of three people who played a vital part in the events at the time. Bell as one of them and the others are Hostage negotiator Max Vernon (played by Mark Strong), the man responsible for communicating with the terrorists inside the building; News Reporter Kate Adie (Abbie Cornish), who was covering the events for the BBC

In April 1980, six armed gunmen stormed the Iranian Embassy in Princes Gate, London, taking 26 people inside hostage. Over the next six days a tense standoff took place, all the while a group of highly trained soldiers from the SAS prepared for a raid, the likes of which the world had never seen before.

6 Days is a definitive inside account of a historic military operation, where for the first time ever the public witnessed the incredible bravery of the Special Air Service (SAS) in action.The gunmen demanded the release of Arab prisoners in the Khuzestan Province of Iran, as well as their own safe passage out of the UK. When the demands were refused, and when someone was murdered the SAS took action.
