James Corden Is Hi-5 In Emoji Movie Watch Video

If anyone says to you they make movies about anything they actually are telling the truth in a way as this August, The Emoji Movie will be pixelating at a cinema near you. It’s hard to believe those little icons your kids, virtually anyone with a social media account or simply a smartphone. Those addicted love to decorate their emails, facebook posts with every type of emoji available and those in the know, there’s an expression for every Emoji. The idea of a movie on these expressive social media icons sounds a totally ridiculous idea but when Jean-Luc Picard himself, Sir Patrick Stewart is voicing the Poop Emoji, you can sign us up!

It’s been a good 8 months since we’ve talked about this movie, Sony Pictures has sent us the first image of James Corden with his character Hi-5! The now British actor turned American chat show host plays a character who doesn’t like been left hanging around. He is the sidekick of our movie’s hero Gene (voiced by T.J. Miller), who embarks on an epic quest to fix the fact that — unlike all of his emoji compatriots, who boast only a single expression — he has no filter and can make whatever face he likes.

Check out the image above and the short video below the actor introducing his character…

Emoji movie unlocks the never-before-seen secret world inside your smartphone. Hidden within the messaging app is Textopolis, a bustling city where all your favourite emojis live, hoping to be selected by the phone’s user. In this world, each emoji has only one facial expression – except for Gene (T.J. Miller), an exuberant emoji who was born without a filter and is bursting with multiple expressions. Determined to become “normal” like the other emojis, Gene enlists the help of his handy best friend Hi-5 (James Corden) and the notorious code breaker emoji Jailbreak (Ilana Glazer). Together, they embark on an epic “app-venture” through the apps on the phone, each its own wild and fun world, to find the Code that will fix Gene. But when a greater danger threatens the phone, the fate of all emojis depends on these three unlikely friends who must save their world before it’s deleted forever.

The Emoji Movie is set for a UK& Irish release on 4th August and also stars Anna Faris, Maya Rudolph, Rob Riggle and Jennifer Coolidge.
