The Best Heist Movies

The Best Heist Movies

There is just something about heist movies that are easy to love. Maybe it’s the glamour of the crime or the charismatic actors who are in the movies, but whatever the magic it, they make for good popcorn movies. With that in mind here are some of the best heist movies of all time.

The Italian Job

When we say the Italian Job, of course we mean the original. Michael Caine’s insanely quotable movie is an old favourite that not only celebrates the heist, but is also one of the most British movies you’ll see. With the famous ending leaving the audience literally on a cliffhanger, The Italian Job is one of the best heist movies ever made.

The Usual Suspects

“The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn’t exist” those words are down on Hollywood history as some of the greatest words to come out of a character’s mouth. This collection of the “usual suspects” reaised one question, who is Keyser Soze? If you’ve seen the movie you’ll know. The fact is though, he pulled off one of the greatest heists ever put to screen.

Ocean’s Eleven

Whether it is the remake or the original, the Ocean’s movies have a place in the heart of any casino fan. Featuring the coolness of Hollywood’s top actors these movies have managed to make the casino heist one of the coolest on screen. It is also arguable that the films have caught onto many gamers love of the casino, and raised the profile of online gaming. Playing on reputable online casino sites is a pastime that many love.

Inception

Inception brings something new to the world of the heist, by taking it into the mind. Delving down into levels of the psyche to get to information stored in a man’s memory is a risky and interesting prospect. This film really hits impressive levels when things start to go wrong and it is a race against time to escape, leading to some impressive and unforgettable scenes.

Heat

Heat is the coming together of Al Pacino and Robert De Niro in the prefect storm of a movie. Unforgettable to all who watch it, the best scene has to be the diner scene where Pacino and De Niro verbally spar. At the time they were Hollywood’s biggest actors, and this was the movie event that many had waited years to see.
The movies mentioned above are just a cross section of some of the greatest heist movies, and they are some of the best. If you are a fan of the heist though you know there are many more that can fit on this list. They have influenced modern pop culture in many ways, and proven to be one of the most popular type of movies for any fan. With a new Ocean’s movie out soon with a female cast, it seems there is a bright future for the heist movie, and we can be sure there will be many more of them to come.
