Remember that certain iconic sci-fi horror where “In Space, no one can hear you scream” slogan? That movie was Ridley Scott‘s Alien and this is Daniel Espinosa‘s Life, which is hoping to capture some of that terror in the new second UK Trailer.
Life promises to give us a contemporary spin on the classic sci-fi/extraterrestrial movie and in the new trailer we get a taste of that unknown terror. Compared to the first trailer, there is a more upbeat introduction but like any badness, things can quickly go ‘Pete Tong’ when you least expect it. No one can hear your scream, not even Jake Gyllenhaal’s scream!
Anytime we encounter ‘aliens’ in sci-fi we either end up been invaded by them or one by one the mysterious alien kills the crew. What we do discover a new ‘life’ what if it’s a discovery that should have left undiscovered, and if in reality, we aren’t alone maybe it’s best for everyone to ‘stay alone’.
Life tells the story of the six-member crew of the International Space Station that is on the cutting edge of one of the most important discoveries in human history: the first evidence of extraterrestrial life on Mars. As the crew begins to conduct research, their methods end up having unintended consequences and the life form proves more intelligent than anyone ever expected.
Along with the above new UK trailer, American cinephiles received a Superbowl TV Spot which continues the theme that we’re not alone and possibly better left alone.
Life now has an official UK&Irish release date and that will be 24th March (same day for the USA too). The movie also stars Ryan Reynolds, Rebecca Ferguson, Hiroyuki Sanada, Ariyon Bakare, Olga Dihovichnaya.
