Do you know Ed helms and Owen Wilson are ‘bastards’? Not in the offensive way but in the non-parental way as this morning we attempt kick off the day with Who’s Your Daddy Trailer as the pair attempt to find their long lost daddy. Known as Bastards in USA Warner Bros. hope to bring some laughs into our Friday ahead of the weekend. Road trip of relevance or irrelevance?

Who’s Your Daddy marks the the directorial debut feature for veteran cinematographer Lawrence Sher (The Hangover films, War Dogs), but after many films with Todd Phillips can Sher continue the Buddy film momentum? Could legendary NFL Quarterback Terry Bradshaw or Newspaper Mogul J.Jonah Jameson aka J.K Simmons be the potential Daddies?

In Who’s Your Daddy? Helms and Wilson play Peter and Kyle Reynolds, two brothers whose eccentric mother (Glenn Close) raised them to believe their father had died when they were young. When they discover this to be a lie, they set out to find their real father, learning more about their mother than they probably ever wanted to know.

Sher has certainly assembled a plethora good actors to lead the line in this film. Really question is do our leading 2 actors, both proven themselves in comedy can form a reliable chemistry? Comedy has been going through a rough patch for a while now with sadly more ‘miss’ films than ‘hit’ film especially the ‘Buddy road’ movie.Neither is the film promoting itself as a film to redefine the sub-genre.

The trailer doesn’t really reveal any much hunour which isn’t a bad thing, keeping the best jokes for the actual film. Too many comedies reveal too much in the trailer leaving us disappointed, let’s hope Helms and Wilson can hit it off. We have a hunch there could be a big silly twist to all this, it’s a comedy so expect the unexpected!

Who’s Your Daddy? will arrive in UK&Irish cinemas on 3rd February 2017. Also starring Katt Williams,June Squibb, Kate Aselton and Ving Rhames.
